Grove City drops road tilt
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a 25-17, 24-26, 25-16, 25-18 decision to host Allegheny Wednesday night in non-conference action at the Wise Center.
Freshman Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) paced Grove City (4-8) with 15 kills and sophomore Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) collected 10 kills. Freshman Taylor Gerent (Westlake, Ohio/Christian Community) added seven kills.
Freshman setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) distributed 37 assists for the Wolverines. Defensively, senior libero Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) chalked up 29 digs. Willits added 15 digs.
Grove City will host Westminster and Saint Vincent in a Presidents' Athletic Conference tri-match next Tuesday, September 28. The match begins at 4 p.m.
