Grove City falls on road
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team concluded the road portion of the 2010 schedule Thursday night with a 25-19, 26-24, 25-19 setback to Geneva at Metheny Field House.
Freshmen Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian), Taylor Gerent (Westlake, Ohio/Christian Community) and Shelby Mander (Dade City, Fla./Pasco) all posted six kills each, as did sophomore Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn). Freshman setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) posted 24 assists and also served two aces.
Defensively, senior libero Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) recorded 31 digs and Branch had two blocks.
Grove City concludes the 2010 season Saturday at home against Chatham. The match begins at 1 p.m.
