Wolverines fall on road

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped to 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday night with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-21 setback at Thiel in Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.

Junior Elisabeth Willits (Hatboro, Pa./North Penn) recorded six kills to pace the Wolverines while sophomore Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) added five kills. Sophomore setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) had 15 assists.

Defensively, Schmidt led the way with eight digs. Senior Heather Good (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney), sophomore Taylor Gerent (Westlake, Ohio/Christian Community) and sophomore Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) all had seven digs each. Branch and Schmidt each had a pair of blocks.

Grove City returns to conference action Saturday with a tri-match at Chatham. Grove City meets Thomas More at 1 p.m. before facing Chatham at 3 p.m.
