Wolverines fall on road

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a 25-16, 19-25, 25-16, 25-20 decision at Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Westminster Thursday night at Memorial Field House.

Sophomore Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) led Grove City (12-11, 4-8) with 11 kills and junior Elisabeth Willits (Hatboro, Pa./North Penn) posted 10 kills. Sophomore Shelby Mander (Dade City, Fla./Pasco) added eight kills. Sophomore setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) tallied 29 assists.

Defensively, senior libero Heather Good (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) tallied 16 digs, Willits had 15 digs and freshman Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) added 11 digs. Freshman Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) tallied three blocks.

Grove City will host Thomas More and Hilbert in a tri-match Saturday. The Wolverines' conference match with Thomas More begins at 10 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match with Hilbert.
