Wolverines sweep Chatham
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 15-13 overall Tuesday night with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-12 victory over visiting Chatham in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena.
Sophomore Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) paced the Wolverines' balanced offensive attack with eight kills. Junior Elisabeth Willits (Hatboro, Pa./North Penn) added seven kills while senior Mary Masincup (Churchville, Va./Grace Christian) and freshman Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) both had six kills.
Sophomore setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) recorded 29 assists. Senior Heather Good (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) led the defense with 12 digs and Branch had three blocks. Fourteen Wolverines played in the match.
Grove City (6-10 PAC) will host Thiel Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. in the 2011 home finale.
