Thiel tops Wolverines
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a 23-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-10 decision to visiting Thiel Thursday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in the Grove City College Arena.
Junior Elisabeth Willits (Hatboro, Pa./North Penn) led Grove City with nine kills and sophomore Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) added seven kills. Senior Mary Masincup (Churchville, Va./Grace Christian) posted six kills.
Sophomore setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) recorded 26 assists and Branch served a pair of aces.
Defensively, senior Heather Good (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) led the Wolverines with 17 digs and sophomore Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) tallied 14 digs. Branch had three blocks.
Grove City honored Good and Masincup prior to Thursday's match as part of Senior Night festivities.
Grove City (15-14, 6-11 PAC) concludes the regular season Saturday with a tri-match at Saint Vincent. The Wolverines finish up the conference schedule against Saint Vincent at 12 p.m., followed by a non-conference bout with Penn State Fayette at 2 p.m.
