Grove City charges past Behrend

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team evened its overall record at 4-4 Tuesday night with a come-from-behind 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 victory over visiting Penn State Behrend in non-conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Senior Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) paced Grove City with 16 kills in the victory while junior Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) recorded 12 kills. Junior Tierza Rangel (Houghton, N.Y./Fillmore Central) chalked up 10 kills and freshman Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added eight kills.

Sophomore setter Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) had 35 assists and freshman Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) totaled 16 assists.

Junior libero Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) posted 22 digs to lead the Grove City defense. Sophomore Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Uniontown Lake) added 13 digs and Willits had 10 digs.

Grove City will visit Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Chatham Thursday at 7 p.m.
