Saint Vincent tops Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 decision to visiting Saint Vincent Thursday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in the Grove City College Arena.
Junior Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) led Grove City with seven kills while freshman setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 16 assists.
Defensively, junior Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) paced Grove City (10-12, 5-7 PAC) with 11 digs and sophomore Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Uniontown Lake) had nine digs. Junior Tierza Rangel (Houghton, N.Y./Fillmore Central) and freshman Elisabeth Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) both had three blocks.
Saint Vincent improved to 9-12 overall and 4-8 in the conference.
The Wolverines will host conference foe Chatham Saturday at 11 a.m. as part of a tri-match in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City will then play Franciscan in a non-league match at 3 p.m.
