September 5, 1998--The Lady Wolverines opened the '98 campaign by taking two out of three at a quad match, hosted by Grove City.  They defeated Geneva, 15-10, 10-15, 15-11, 15-6, lost to Westminster, 10-15, 9-15, 9-15, then downed Wooster, 15-9, 15-12, 8-14, 15-6.

Senior Liz Sparks (Grove City, PA/Grove City) led the way with 48 kills in the three matches, including 19 in the win over Geneva.  Freshman Julie Porter (Medina, OH/First Baptist Christian) had 27 kills on the day, while sophomore Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian) and senior Emily Bintz (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) added 19 and 16 kills, respectively.  Senior Erin Mayne (Elyria, OH/Elyria) recorded 56 assists.

The Lady Wolverines play at Mount Union Tuesday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m.
