Grove City sweeps Earlham in season opener
DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team rolled to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 sweep of non-conference opponent Earlham in its season opener Friday evening at the Ohio Wesleyan University Bishop Invitational.
Senior Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) led the way for the Wolverines with 10 kills and three blocks while classmate Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) posted a team-high 14 digs.
Sophomore Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added seven kills and Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) recorded 16 assists. Sophomore Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) contributed 10 assists to go with five aces.
The Wolverines (1-0) face Wilmington Saturday at 10:00 a.m. before taking on host Ohio Wesleyan at 11:30 a.m.
