Wolverines down Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team got back on track and evened its record with a 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 21-25, 25-14) win at non-conference foe Allegheny on Thursday evening.

Senior Tierza Rangel (Houghton, N.Y./Fillmore Central) led the way for the Wolverines with 13 kills while sophomore Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added eight kills and a team-high 19 digs.

Junior setter Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) recorded 21 assists and sophomore Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) had 13 assists. Senior Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) posted 16 digs for the Grove City defense while senior Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) recorded a team-high six blocks.

The Wolverines improved to 6-6 overall with the win.

Grove City will visit Francisican on Saturday morning for an 11:30 a.m. non-conference match in Steubenville, Ohio.
