Grove City tops Barons
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 7-6 overall Saturday by earning a 20-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-20 non-conference win at Franciscan University.
Seniors Shelby Mander (Dade City, Fla./Pasco) and Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) both recorded a team-leading 12 kills for Grove City. Junior setter Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) posted 25 assists and sophomore Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) collected 15 assists.
Branch also served four aces.
Senior Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) led the defense with 16 digs and Trageser added 15 digs.
Grove City will visit Penn State Behrend Tuesday at 7 p.m. in non-conference action.
