Wolverines rally past Behrend for 3-2 win

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 8-6 overall Tuesday night by earning a 3-2 road win over Penn State Behrend at the Junker Centre. Grove City pulled out the victory by scores of 25-22, 16-25, 21-25, 25-17 and 15-12.

Senior Tierza Rangel (Houghton, N.Y./Fillmore Central) led Grove City with 15 kills while sophomore Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added 11 kills. Sophomore Elisabeth Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) recorded eight kills.

Junior setter Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) tallied 25 assists and sophomore Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) contributed 17 assists.

Senior libero Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) led the defense with 27 digs. Galens added 15 digs.

Senior Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) posted eight blocks and Rangel added three blocks.

Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Saturday with a tri-match at Chatham. The Wolverines face Thomas More at 1 p.m. before meeting Chatham at 3 p.m.
