Westminster tops Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped to 9-8 overall Thursday night with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-22 setback against visiting Westminster in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at the Grove City College Arena.
Senior Tierza Rangel (Houghton, N.Y./Fillmore Central) paced the Wolverines (3-4 PAC) with nine kills. Seniors Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) and Shelby Mander (Dade City, Fla./Pasco) both added five kills.
Junior setter Amy Collins (Landenberg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) tallied 14 assists and sophomore Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) collected nine assists.
Defensively, senior libero Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) collected nine digs and Trageser had six digs. Branch tallied three blocks.
Westminster improved to 15-4 overall and 6-3 in the conference.
Grove City will visit Waynesburg October 9 in conference action. The match starts at 6:30 p.m.
