Wolverines move to 2-1

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team split two matches Saturday morning at the Ohio Wesleyan University Bishop Invitational. Grove City (2-1) opened the day by sweeping Wilmington, 25-10, 25-16, 25-16. The Wolverines then dropped a 25-23, 25-16, 25-13 decision to host Ohio Wesleyan in the finale.

Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) paced Grove City with a season-high 13 kills in the win over Wilmington while classmate Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) contributed 10 kills. Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) distributed 32 assists and also served a pair of aces.

Senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) tallied a team-leading 12 digs. Freshman LeAnne Disco (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) posted five blocks while Galens had four blocks. Althausen and senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) both added three blocks.

Disco chalked up a team-high six kills against Ohio Wesleyan. Trageser tallied 19 assists while Galens served three aces. Trenta, who earned All-Tournament recognition, led the defense with 11 digs. Algiere posted six blocks and Trageser collected three blocks.

Grove City will visit Penn State Altoona Wednesday night in non-conference action.
