Wolverines drop two

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday evening at the Marcia French Memorial Invitational, hosted by Case Western Reserve at the Veale Center. John Carroll earned a 25-18, 25-23, 25-15 decision over Grove City in the opener. Grove City (2-4) then dropped a 25-13, 25-22, 25-12 verdict to Hiram in Friday's finale.

Senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) and freshman LeAnne Disco (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) each recorded seven kills against John Carroll while junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) tallied 23 assists.

Defensively, senior Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) tallied a team-leading 13 digs while Disco posted three blocks.

Algiere and junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) both had seven kills against Hiram. Trageser notched 22 assists and also had a team-leading 11 digs.

Grove City will face Muskingum at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Wolverines close the Invitational at noon against Capital.
