Wolverines extend streak to 4

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball extended its winning streak to four matches Wednesday night by earning a pair of home victories in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City opened the evening with a 25-8, 25-9, 25-15 victory over Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Chatham. The Wolverines then secured a 25-22, 25-19, 25-11 win over La Roche.

Freshman Hannah Foster (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Garaway) paced Grove City (6-4, 1-0 PAC) against Chatham by posting eight kills. Classmate Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) added six kills in the win.

Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 20 assists and also served five aces. Robatisin recorded four aces.

Defensively, Robatistin and Trageser both had six digs. Freshman Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts for Jesus Christ) posted six blocks.

Against La Roche, junior Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) helped lead Grove City with 10 kills while Carter and Robatisin each collected six kills. Trageser set 27 assists and served a pair of aces. Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) and freshman Beka Russell (North Canton, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) also had a pair of aces.

Senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) led the defense with 17 digs. Galens (11), Althausen (10) and Trageser (10) also recorded double-digit dig totals. Carter and senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) both had three blocks.

The four-match win streak is Grove City's longest win streak since the Wolverines won five straight matches October 16-28, 2008. The Wolverines' 6-4 record is the team's best after 10 matches since the 2011 team also won six of its first 10 outings.

Grove City will host Allegheny Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in non-conference play.
