Grove City tops Behrend

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 9-5 overall by earning a 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17 victory over visiting Penn State Behrend (10-3) in non-conference action Tuesday night at the Grove City College Arena.

Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) led Grove City with a dozen kills while senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island), junior Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian), freshman LeAnne Disco (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) and freshman Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) all collected six kills apiece.

Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 33 assists. Robatisin served three aces and Galens had two aces.

Defensively, Robatisin collected a team-high 20 digs and senior Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) added 16 digs. Galens also posted 11 digs. Algiere chalked up six blocks, Disco delivered four blocks, and Althausen and Trageser each added three blocks.

Grove City has won six straight home matches, dating back to the end of the 2013 season. That is Grove City's longest home win streak since the 2006 team opened the season with six straight home triumphs. The Wolverines' 9-5 record is the program's best after 14 matches since 2007, when Grove City won 12 of its first 14 matches.

The Wolverines return to Presidents' Athletic Conference play Thursday at Saint Vincent. The match will start at 7 p.m.
