Bethany tops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped to 9-7 overall Tuesday night as visiting Bethany pulled out a 25-18, 25-10, 26-28, 26-24 victory over the Wolverines in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena. Grove City (2-3 PAC) trailed 24-19 in the third set before rallying for the win. In the fourth set, the Wolverines held an 18-13 lead but Bethany (11-6, 5-1 PAC) charged back to win the set and the match.

Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) led the Wolverines with 10 kills while senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) and freshman Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) both added nine kills. Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 33 assists.

Defensively, senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) recorded a team-high 24 digs while Robatisin recorded 19 digs. Galens (16) and Trageser (14) also had double-digit dig performances. Junior Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian) and freshman LeAnne Disco (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) both posted four blocks and Algiere had three blocks.

Grove City had won six straight home matches prior to Tuesday's setback. The Wolverines will host Waynesburg Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. in conference action.
