Saint Vincent edges Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 12-11 overall Tuesday night by dropping a 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-13 decision to visiting Saint Vincent (15-9, 6-6) in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) led Grove City with a season-high 20 kills while freshman Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) contributed nine kills. Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) distributed 44 assists.

Defensively, Robatisin recorded 28 digs while Trageser posted 26 digs. Senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) added 23 digs and Galens had 22 digs. Freshman Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts For Jesus Christ) tallied five blocks.

Saint Vincent also won the first meeting between the teams in five sets September 25 in Latrobe, Pa. Each of the last four meetings between the teams has gone to five sets. This season, Grove City has played a conference-high seven five-set matches.

Grove City will visit conference foe Geneva Thursday at 7 p.m.
