Grove City drops finale

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team closed the 2014 season Saturday afternoon with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 setback against visiting Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Freshman Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and junior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) led Grove City (13-16, 6-12) with eight kills each while junior Stephanie Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian) posted seven kills. Junior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 27 assists.

Senior libero Frances Trenta (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) recorded a team-high 20 digs and Robatisin recorded 17 digs. Trageser added 15 digs. Robatisin and senior Dalaney Algiere (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) both tallied three blocks.

Prior to the match, Grove City honored Algiere and Trenta as part of Senior Day festivities. Thiel improved to 10-8 in the conference and 13-16 overall. Thiel will be the No. 4 seed in next week's six-team Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.
