Wolverines fall at Mount Union tourney

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday afternoon at Mount Union's Purple Raider Invitational. Grove City (0-3) opened the day with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-21 setback against Ohio Wesleyan. The Wolverines then fell to host Mount Union in three sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-11.

Sophomore Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) paced Grove City with 11 kills in the opener against Ohio Wesleyan. Freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) added eight kills. Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) posted 17 assists.

Junior Jessica Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian) paced the defense with 16 digs. Sophomore Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts for Jesus Christ) posted a season-high four blocks.

Buchanan recorded eight kills against Mount Union while senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) contributed seven kills. Trageser collected 14 assists and freshman Allie Schmid (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) added 12 assists. Althausen led the Wolverines with 10 digs.

Grove City will face Denison at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Wolverines will conclude tournament play at 2 p.m. against Trine (Ind.).
