Wolverines top Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 4-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by earning a 25-13, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23 win at Thiel (2-16, 2-5 PAC) Thursday night at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.

Freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) led Grove City (6-11 overall) with 13 kills while senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) and sophomore Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) both had nine kills.

Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 25 assists and freshman Allie Schmid (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) collected 15 assists. Robatisin served three aces.

Defensively, junior Jessica Althausen (Asheville, N.C./Asheville Christian) led Grove City with 28 digs. Galens posted 18 digs and Robatisin recorded 17 digs. Sophomore Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts for Jesus Christ) tallied five blocks and senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) posted four blocks. Robatisin and Galens each had three rejections.

Grove City will host Westminster and Washington & Jefferson in a conference tri-match Saturday at 11 a.m.
