Grove City humbles Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 7-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night by earning a 25-19, 25-17, 18-25, 25-14 victory over host Saint Vincent at the Carey Center. The victory completes a season sweep of Saint Vincent for Grove City (9-12 overall).

Four Grove City players posted double-digit kill efforts in the victory. Senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) and sophomore Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) both recorded a dozen kills while senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) and freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) each produced 11 kills.

Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) tallied 29 assists and freshman Allie Schmid (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 20 assists. Robatisin served two aces.

Sophomore libero Beka Russell (North Canton, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) led the Grove City defense with 29 digs. Galens and Trageser each had 15 digs. Sophomore Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts For Jesus Christ) recorded three blocks.

Grove City will host conference foe Thomas More at 7 p.m. Friday night in the Grove City College Arena.
