Grove City falls on road

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped to 7-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-21 setback Wednesday night at Geneva in Metheny Field House.

Senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) and freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) each led Grove City with seven kills. Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 11 assists and freshman Allie Schmid (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) added eight assists.

Sophomore Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts For Jesus Christ) recorded four blocks and Buchanan added three blocks. Senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) had a team-leading 12 digs.

Grove City (9-14 overall) will host Waynesburg in conference play Thursday at 3 p.m. in the opener of a tri-match. Grove City will then play Penn State Altoona at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match.
