Grove City tops Chatham

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team moved to closer to securing a berth in the season-ending Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament by earning a 20-25, 25-9, 25-9, 25-5 home win Wednesday night over conference foe Chatham in the Grove City College Arena.

Sophomore Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) each paced Grove City (13-15, 9-6 PAC) by posting 10 kills. Senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) recorded nine kills while senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) and sophomore Ariella Carter (Avon, Ohio/Hearts For Jesus Christ) both contributed seven kills.

Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) distributed 43 assists. Galens served six aces while Robatisin recorded five aces. As a team, the Wolverines served 15 aces.

Galens led the defense with 15 digs while Casey chalked up four blocks.

The top six teams in the league will compete in the conference tournament November 3-7. Grove City needs one more conference win to secure a berth.

Grove City closes its home schedule Saturday against conference rival Thiel at 1 p.m. It will be Senior Day for Casey, Galens and Trageser.
