Grove City falls on road

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped to 10-7 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-19 setback Wednesday night at Westminster in Memorial Field House.

Senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) led Grove City (14-16 overall) with 10 kills while senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added seven kills. Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 27 assists.

Casey also served three aces while sophomore Beka Russell (North Canton, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) had two aces.

Russell led the defense with nine digs while Galens had eight.

Grove City will visit Washington & Jefferson in conference play Friday night at 7 p.m. The Wolverines will clinch the No. 4 seed in next week's conference tournament with a win. That would give Grove City home-court advantage in the quarterfinals.
