Wolverines down W&J, clinch home playoff match

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Sophomore Jamie Robatisin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and freshman Laura Buchanan (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) each pounded 13 kills and the Grove City College volleyball team secured a Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament home match for the first time since 2007 with a 25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17 Presidents' Athletic Conference road victory over Washington & Jefferson on Friday night at Henry Memorial Gymnasium.

Robatisin also added a team-high 20 digs while Buchanan posted a team-best five blocks, including three solo. Sophomore Hannah Foster (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Garaway) joined Robatisin and Buchanan in double-figures with 11 kills while senior Libbie Casey (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) added to the Wolverine offense with seven kills, three blocks and a team-high three service aces.

Senior setter Amy Trageser (Marriottsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian) recorded 44 assists and 12 digs while senior Natalija Galens (Covert, Mich./Grace Christian) added five kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Beka Russell (North Canton, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) and junior Lexie Schwartz registered 18 and 11 digs, respectively.

With the victory, Grove City has earned the No. 4 seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament and will host either W&J or Westminster in a first-round match on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in College Arena.
