Mount Union 3, Grove City 1


September 8, 1998--Grove City senior Liz Sparks (Grove City, PA/Grove City) recorded 25 kills, but the Lady Wolverines ended up on the losing end of a 3-1 decision to host Mount Union on Tuesday.

The Lady Wolverines won the first game, 15-10, then dropped the next three by finals of 7-15, 13-15, and 4-15.

Sparks, who earlier in the day was named Presidents' Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week, averaged 6.25 kills in the four games.

Grove City competes at the Allegheny Tournament Friday and Saturday, September 11-12.
