GCC Opens B-W Tourney 1-1 BEREA, OH, September 10, 1999--The Lady Wolverine volleyball team split two matches in first-day action at the Baldwin-Wallace Tournament on Friday, beating Defiance 15-3, 11-15, 15-7, 15-2, before falling to B-W 5-15, 14-16, 12-15. Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) sparked the win with 12 kills and eight blocks. Gardner followed with five blocks in the nightcap, while Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) contributed 18 kills and Heather Oates (Delavan, IL/Delavan) had 20 digs. Grove City's overall record moved to 3-2. The Lady Wolverines open Saturday's action against Kenyon at 9:00 a.m. |
