GCC Drops A Pair At JCU CLEVELAND, OH, September 17, 1999--The Lady Wolverine volleyball team went 0-2 in first-day action at the John Carroll University Tournament on Friday, falling to both John Carroll and Ithaca in three games. Grove City opened with a 13-15, 13-15, 12-15 loss to John Carroll in which Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) led the way with 13 kills and four blocks. Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian) also contributed four blocks, while Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) and Laura Goll (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) chipped in with 18 digs apiece. The Lady Wolverines dropped the nightcap to Ithaca, 2-15, 3-15, 13-15. Grove City opens Saturday play against Kalamazoo at 10:45 a.m. |
