Lady Wolverines Close Tourney 1-3 CLEVELAND, OH, September 18, 1999--After going winless in two matches Friday, the Lady Wolverines split a pair Saturday to finish 1-3 at the John Carroll Tournament. Grove City downed Kalamazoo, 15-10, 12-15, 15-12, 15-7, before falling to Kenyon in five games, 15-13, 13-15, 9-15, 15-9, 13-15. Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) sparked the victory with 14 kills, while Laura Goll (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) recorded 30 digs. Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) registered eight blocks against Kenyon and Heather Oates (Delavan, IL/Delavan) contributed 19 digs. The Lady Wolverines pulled out of Cleveland with an overall record of 5-7. |
