Lady Wolverines Earn Another Split HUNTINGDON, PA, October 2, 1999--The Grove City College women's volleyball team went the distance in two matches again Saturday at the Juniata College ASICS Invitational, losing to Western Maryland College 4-15, 15-7, 12-15, 15-7, 8-15, before beating York College 15-5, 9-15, 15-5, 13-15, 15-10. Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) recorded 18 kills and 17 digs in the first match, then followed with 16 kills and 21 digs in the nightcap. Laura Goll (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) had 17 digs against Western Maryland. Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) registered nine kills and Heather Oates (Delavan, IL/Delavan) had 20 digs in the win over York. The Lady Wolverines, who finished 2-2 at Juniata, moved their overall record to 10-9. |
