Lady Wolverines Slip 3-2 In Bethany BETHANY, WV, October 7, 1999--The Grove City College women's volleyball team was dealt its first conference defeat Thursday as host Bethany College won in five games, 15-12, 13-15, 15-3, 11-5, 15-12. The Lady Wolverines were led by the play of Presidents' Athletic Confernce player of the week Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg), who recorded 14 kills, three solos blocks and three assisted blocks. Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) registered 14 kills, Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Staunton) posted five assisted blocks, Laura Goll (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) recorded 39 digs and Cara Denniston (Grove City, PA/Grove City) had 51 assists. Grove City, whose last six matches have gone five games, fell to 3-1 in the PAC, 11-10 overall. Bethany improved to 2-3 in the league and 7-14 overall. |
