GCC Wins In Four Over Thiel GROVE CITY, PA, October 13, 1999--The Grove City College women's volleyball team reversed a three-match losing skid Wednesday with a 15-1, 15-8, 15-17, 15-13 win over Thiel College, who had its winning streak stopped at four. Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) sparked the victory with 23 kills and 16 digs. Cara Denniston (Grove City, PA/Grove City) recorded 47 assists and six serving aces. Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) contributed five blocks, including four solos. The Lady Wolverines improved to 4-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference and evened their overall record at 12-12. Thiel fell to 3-3 in the PAC and 8-11 overall. |
