SELINSGROVE, PA, November 16, 2001 -- Four Grove City Lady Wolverines scored in
double figures as Grove City downed Richard Stockton, 74-43, in the semifinals
of the Susquehanna College Tip-Off Tournament Friday night.
Freshman Abby Moose (Mercer, PA/Mercer) led the Lady Wolverines with 14 points
and four steals off the bench. Senior Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls,
OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) added 13 points, hitting three of five three-pointers, while junior Jessica Jenkins (Conneautville,
PA/Cambridge Springs) tossed in 12 points.
Erica Youngman, (Slippery Rock,
PA/Slippery Rock) in her first action in nearly two years after a knee injury,
added 10 points, including a pair of threes. Youngman also distributed six
assists and collected three steals.
Senior guard T.L. Thompson (Girard, PA/Girard) gave out five of Grove City’s
17 assists.
Grove City held Richard Stockton to just 15 points in the second half after
holding a 37-28 halftime lead. Richard Stockton shot just 29 percent from the
field in the second half.
No Richard Stockton player scored in double figures.
Grove City faces Susquehanna Saturday night in the championship game. The hosts
routed Mass.-Dartmouth, 92-52, in the second semifinal contest.
