Lady Wolverines win at Pitt-Greensburg, 66-39

GREENSBURG, PA, December 1, 2001--Eleven Lady Wolverines dented the scoring column as Grove City evened its record at 2-2 with a 66-39 victory over winless Pitt-Greensburg (0-5) Saturday night.

The Lady Wolverines set the tone early, opening up a 21-4 lead through the first eight minutes.  Grove City went ahead 30-10 at the 7:45 mark and led 34-19 at halftime.

Junior Christy Faller (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana) tossed in a team-high 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting and added six rebounds, five steals and three assists in 17 minutes of action.  Sophomore Leigh LeGare (Copperas Cove, TX/Copperas Cove) and freshman Abby Moose (Mercer, PA/Mercer) each had nine points.  Junior Cara Denniston (Grove City, PA/Grove City) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, helping the Lady Wolverines post a 44-34 edge on the glass.

Grove City outshot Pitt-Greensburg, 43% (24-56) to 27% (13-49).

The Lady Wolverines host Geneva next Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m.
