Lady Wolverines move to 5-0 in PAC
WAYNESBURG, PA, February 2, 2002--The Grove City College Lady Wolverines built a 35-13 halftime lead and cruised to a 64-37 victory over host Waynesburg College Saturday night to improve to 5-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, 11-8 overall.
Seniors Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) and Kristy Kegg (Johnstown, PA/Ferndale) led 14 Lady Wolverines in the scoring column with eight points apiece.
The Lady Wolverines led 9-4 through the first eight minutes before breaking loose. Grove City extended its lead to 31-9 and used 52 percent shooting (15-29) to take a 22-point lead into intermission. Waynesburg hit just 22 percent (6-27) from the floor in the first half.
Trisha Pollock scored a team-high seven points for Waynesburg, who fell to 0-5 in the league, 7-11 overall.
Grove City has won nine of its last 11 games after opening the season 2-6.
