Lady Wolverines fall to nationally-ranked Messiah

GETTYSBURG, Pa.  -- Messiah (9-1) stormed out to a 40-19 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 71-42 victory over Grove City in women's basketball action at the Gettysburg Days Inn Classic Friday night at Hen Bream Gymnasium.

Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) led Grove City with 12 points while Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer) added 11, including three three-point goals.

Kate Giusto led Messiah, ranked 22nd in this week's d3hoops.com poll, with a dozen points. Messiah out-rebounded Grove City (1-8), 42-30.

Grove City will face host Gettysburg Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The matchups were pre-determined.
