Geneva comes back to down Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Visiting NAIA Geneva erased Grove City's 32-22 halftime lead and pulled out a 58-52 win over the host Lady Wolverines Wednesday night in non-conference women's basketball action at the Grove City College Arena.

Grove City (3-2) did not score for the first 4:30 of the first half as Geneva took the lead with a 17-5 run. Grove City reclaimed a 47-46 lead with 3:21 left on two free throws from junior guard Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer) but the Golden Tornadoes put the game away with a 9-0 run.

Senior forward Leigh LeGare (Copperas Cove, Texas/Copperas Cove) led Grove City with 12 points and nine rebounds while junior guard Rachel Romance (East Springfield, Pa./Northwestern) had a career-high 10 rebounds and five assists. Junior center Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) blocked a career-high six shots and added three steals.

Jen Rawding and Ali Cananzi led Geneva (8-2) with 15 points each. Kylee Kittner added 13 points while Megan Gallagher came off the bench to score 10 points.

Grove City plays Montclair State, N.J. Friday night at 6 p.m. in the semifinals of the Penn State Behrend Winter Classic.
