Grove City routs Hilbert in consolation game
ERIE, Pa. -- Led by a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double from all-tournament selection Misty Wadowsky (Portersville, Pa./Slippery Rock), the Grove City College women's basketball team recorded a 70-50 victory over Hilbert in the consolation game of the Penn State Behrend Winter Classic at the Junker Center.
Wadowsky's inside work helped Grove City (4-3) overcome a 9-for-41 (22 percent) shooting effort in the first half. Junior guard Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer) added 14 points while junior guard Rachel Romance (East Springfield, Pa./Northwestern) tossed in 11 points. Moose also had six steals while Romance had five thefts. As a team, Grove City had 16 total steals and forced 34 Hilbert turnovers.
Grove City also held a 55-38 edge on the glass. Grove City snapped a three-game skid with the win. The Lady Wolverines return to action Jan. 3 at La Roche.
