Grove City falls to 3-4 in PAC

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team fell to 11-9 overall and 3-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 74-64 loss to visiting Westminster Wednesday night at the Grove City College Arena in PAC action.

Westminster (13-8, 5-2 PAC) broke the game open with an 11-0 run over the latter portion of the first half and early part of the second half. Westminster led by as many 21 points in the second half, 59-38, before Grove City rallied late. 

The Lady Wolverines eventually cut the lead down to seven, 68-61, in the final minute but could get no closer.

Junior guard Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer) led Grove City with 18 points, including four three-point goals. Moose also had five assists. Junior center Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) added 13 points.

Guard Desiree Sterling led Westminster with 21 points while center Erica Tallo added a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Alyson Gasper also picked up a double-double for Westminster with 11 points and 10 boards.

Westminster out-rebounded Grove City, 42-35, and forced 19 Grove City turnovers. 

Grove City returns to action Saturday at Thiel. Tip-off is 1 p.m.
