Wolverines win third straight

BRADFORD, Pa. -- Four Grove City players scored in double figures Thursday night as the Wolverines improved to 5-2 with a 68-57 win at Pitt-Bradford in non-conference women's basketball action. The 5-2 start is Grove City's best since the 2000-01 team began the season 8-1.

Senior center Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) and senior guard Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer) led Grove City Thursday night with 15 points each while freshman forward Rachel McCoy (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) added 12 points and seven rebounds.

O'Keefe grabbed eight rebounds while Moose added four assists and five steals. Moose now has 987 career points.

Junior guard Tammy Hess (Vintondale, Pa./United) added 10 points, her second straight double-digit scoring performance. Grove City, which held a 46-45 edge on the glass, led 35-19 at halftime.

Brittany McLean led Pitt-Bradford with 10 points. The Wolverines held the Panthers to just 27.6 percent (16 of 58) shooting from the floor.
