Wolverines roll past Denison, 62-51  

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Four Grove City players scored in double figures Tuesday night as the Wolverines improved to 6-4 with a 62-51 home win over Denison in non-conference women's basketball action at the Grove City College Arena.

Freshman forward Rachel McCoy (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) tied a career-high with 21 points and added 10 rebounds while junior guard Tammy Hess (Vintondale, Pa./United) added 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Senior center Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) chipped in 11 points while freshman forward Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) added 10 points.

Denison (6-4) jumped out to a 12-4 lead early but Grove City stormed back in the latter portion of the first half. The Wolverines closed the first half with a 12-0 run that McCoy capped with a putback with one second left. The Big Red knotted the game at 43 with 13:10 left but Grove City assembled a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to help pull away.

The Wolverines held a 42-37 edge on the glass and forced 16 turnovers. Marisa Hard led Denison with 21 points. It was the first meeting between the two schools.

Grove City hosts Juniata Friday night in non-conference play at 6 p.m.
