Defense, balance vault Grove City to win  

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Four Grove City players scored in double figures while the Wolverine defense limited host Bethany to 28 percent (17 of 59) shooting Saturday afternoon as Grove City earned a 61-50 win at Hummel Field House in Presidents' Athletic Conference women's basketball action.

Grove City (10-8, 3-2 PAC) broke the game open in the second half with a 14-4 run. During the second half, Grove City limited the Bison (7-12, 2-3 PAC) to just 7 of 31 (22 percent) shooting, including an 0-for-10 effort on three-point attempts.

Freshman forward Rachel McCoy (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local), senior guard Abby Moose (New Wilmington, Pa./Mercer), senior center Sandy O'Keefe (Perry, Ohio/Perry) and senior guard Rachel Romance (East Springfield, Pa./Northwestern) all scored 10 points for Grove City while senior guard Jocelyn Kempema (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Edgewood) added nine points.

O'Keefe added eight rebounds and four blocks while Moose recorded four of Grove City's 13 steals. Kempema and Romance each added three steals. Sophomore Lee Anne Lukcic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

The game featured nine ties. Katie Resanovich led Bethany with 10 points. Grove City will visit Geneva Tuesday night.
