Geneva downs Wolverines, 50-39
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped a 50-39 decision to visiting Geneva Wednesday night in non-conference action at the Grove City College Arena.
Grove City (0-4) trailed by just two at the half, 24-22. However, the Wolverines shot just 5 of 26 (19 percent) in the second half. For the game, Grove City shot 14 of 50 (28 percent).
Senior guard Elyse Bogusz (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) led Grove City with 11 points while junior center Rachel McCoy (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Grove City out-rebounded Geneva, 44-36. Geneva turned Grove City's 29 turnovers into 24 points.
Allyson Clarke paced Geneva (4-1) with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Jackie Anthony and Michawn Rich each scored 10 points each.
Grove City will visit Case Western Reserve Saturday night at 6 p.m. in non-conference action.
