Grove City falls to Westminster

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team fell to 5-16 overall and 2-8 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday night with a 71-39 home loss to Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at the Grove City College Arena.

Westminster (17-5, 7-2 PAC) shot 50 percent (28 of 56) from the floor, including a 12-of-22 effort (55 percent) in the second half. Grove City, meanwhile, made just 15 of 59 (25 percent) attempts from the field. Westminster broke the game open with a 37-7 run that covered the final 13 minutes of the first half and the first four minutes of the second half. 

Junior center Rachel McCoy (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) paced Grove City with 16 points. She now has 990 career points. Desiree Sterling led Westminster with a dozen points. Westminster owned a 49-26 advantage on the glass.

Grove City will visit Saint Vincent Saturday night at 6 p.m.
