Grove City falls in OT

BETHANY, W. Va. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped to 7-5 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Monday night with a 69-67 setback at Bethany in conference action at Hummel Field House.

Grove City (10-11) had a chance to send the game to a second overtime but a 15-foot jumper at the buzzer by senior forward Laura Miller (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) would not fall. Miller had sent the game to overtime with a game-tying putback with 33 seconds left in regulation.

The game featured six ties and six lead changes. Neither team led by more than seven points.

Senior forward Krista Beechy (Winesburg, Ohio/Berlin Hiland) added 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field.

Grove City shot 27 of 58 (47 percent) from the field, including a 13-for-25 (52 percent) effort in the second half. However, Grove City committed 21 turnovers.
