Cold shooting dooms Grove City

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 71-29 setback at defending conference champion Thomas More (4-1, 2-0 PAC) in the Connor Convocation Center.

Grove City converted just 12 of 52 (23 percent) shots from the field Saturday. Thomas More also forced 28 Grove City turnovers.

Senior guard Megan Gebrosky (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and sophomore guard Sadie Malone (Gates Mills, Ohio/Mount Vernon) led Grove City with eight points each. Sophomore forward Hannah Jo Coneby (Maple Shade, N.J./Baptist) added seven points.

Katie Kitchen led Thomas More with 13 points and Kelli Dixon scored a dozen. Thomas More shot 42 percent (27 of 65) from the field. The Saints also held a 47-38 edge in rebounds. Freshman Kelsey Shirey (Macedonia, Ohio/Nordonia) pulled in a team-high five rebounds for Grove City.

The Wolverines will visit Saint Vincent Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
