Saint Vincent stops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped an 81-52 decision to visiting Saint Vincent Saturday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at the Grove City College Arena.

Grove City shot 49 percent (23 of 47) from the floor for the game. However, conference-leading Saint Vincent (16-3, 11-1 PAC) shot 55 percent (31 of 56) for the game. The Bearcats also forced 21 Grove City turnovers.

Sophomore forward Hannah Jo Coneby (Maple Shade, N.J./Baptist) led Grove City with 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting and junior guard Leah Gibson (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) added 10 points.

Saint Vincent jumped out to a 16-4 lead and led by as many as 21, 44-23, in the first half. The Bearcats led 48-28 at the break.

Five Saint Vincent players scored in double figures. Devin McGrath led the way with 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds while Emily Fenton had 16 points. Melissa Mansur (13), Elle Collins (12) and Jessica Welch (10) also reached double digits.

Coneby led Grove City with six rebounds. Saint Vincent owned a 27-24 edge in rebounds. Senior guard Megan Gebrosky (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) recorded five assists for the Wolverines.

Grove City (4-15, 3-9 PAC) will visit Geneva Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
